So basically while people are purchasing product online, they also facing certain risks in different dimensions. For example, when people are shopping online, the most common is they will face quality risk, which means that the product you finally get would have significant difference with how the seller described online. Since that when people purchase products online, the only thing they can judge whether the products is good or not is through the photos that provided by the sellers. However, some photos shows on the website are not match with the exactly product, just like the Geetha and Rangarajan claims in their article "A CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK FOR PERCEIVED RISK IN CONSUMER ONLINE SHOPPING." They state that:" Consumers perceived quality risk of a product or service is based on the variation of information that they associate with the product. It differs from day to day or from altered sites. Zhang et al. (2012) estimated product not performing as it was designed and displayed on the net. Therefore, it fails to deliver the product exactly as ordered. " So it strongly emphasize one of the significant risk happened when people shopping online. The sellers use unreliable images and descriptions to lure the consumers, however the actual products have big difference with their descriptions. In some way, it more like a kind of swindle. It is safe to say that online shopping is more like a game designed by the sellers, there still exist so much uncertain things in there. We must "keep our eyes open," and be able to identify the authenticity.
In the other hand, the products shows online can only judged by their appearance, we do not know what exactly it made of. In other world, it still exist a potential risk with some specific products, such as luxury and medical supplies. Here the authors offer us some examples:" They may face visual damage or high pressure leading to buying fake product which may harm or be dangerous to one’s health. Lim (2003) explained that a product not as good as individual expectation may lead to physical risk."
