Elaine White who was a financial advisor and she needed to choose the best charitable giving vehicle for two families. For the Carsons who were upper-middle class clients, White has to choose and suggest the best charitable vehicle so to meet the objective of the Carsons which was to receive a tax deduction this year but delay distribution decisions to a later date. Next, for the Bradleys who were the wealthy couple and have more complex tax situation, thus White has to recommend them with the best charitable vehicles which allow them to fulfil their objectives. In order to solve the problems, it is recommended that Donor-Advised Funds should be chosen for the Carsons while Charitable Remainder Trusts should be selected for the Bradleys. The reason is both DAF and CRT have meet the objectives for both families respectively. |
