1.The Business concept. What is the business concept of the entrepreneur? Explain the business. A description of the product(s) or service(s). What are major product(s) or service(s)?

Bidet inc. is a Montreal based startup company that retails bidet to the general public through their online store. As it is already selling to the general public, Bidet inc. will target a new niche market by selling their products to nursing homes throughout Quebec and Ontario. This will allow the company to reach commercial markets via contract agreements. Regarding the product itself, the most popular model BA4500 sells for close to $80.   The attachment will help provide extra hygiene by preventing elders from infections such as hemorrhoids in addition to easing the workload for nurses. However, it does not help elders that are bedrested.

A bidet provides a cleaner experience while using the toilet. It stops bacteria from spreading and causing irritations, infections and diseases. In addition, the attachments significantly reduces the use of toilet paper. This not only helps the user save money, but also prevents clogs and helps protect the environment. Most bidets that are currently sold on the market as separate entities which makes them costly and complicated to install. On the other hand, as the BA4500 attachment is compatible with most standard toilets, it can be easily installed. Indeed, not only that it is a lot cheaper than a stand alone bidet but it is also non-electric, self cleaning and uses the existing water source. Lastly, Bidet inc. also helps the environment by partnering with the non-profit organization Trees for the Future, which plants 10 trees for each attachment sold.

2.What are the objectives of the entrepreneur at the time of start up? Lifestyle, financial goals, etc.

One of the entrepreneurs discovered bidets by visiting his friend’s home where he tried one and he loved it. As Bidets are very common in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, many individuals have already used one. While starting the company, the entrepreneurs’ first goal was to get Canadians to discover this great product. To do so, they had to make it more accessible by making it cheaper and easier to install. Then, they had to educate people about the bidets. Lastly, they wanted to not only develop an environmentally friendly product but also help the planet by planting trees in developing countries. All these objectives could be met by starting a company which also gave them the satisfaction of being their own bosses.
