Corporate Responsibility and Marketing Strategies

Apple Incorporated is known for the high-quality products they produce for the consumers. The quality products they produce drives their profits. Apple Incorporated’s mission is to make sure that are in compliance with standards they set for social responsibility to the community they serve and make sure suppliers are in compliance with social and ethical responsibility (Strategic Management Insight, 2013). Apple Incorporated is dedicated to implementing the corporate social responsibility activities and also produce the high-quality products with the cutting-edge technology.

Apple Incorporated corporate social responsibility is important to the company that they are not only concerned with profits and showing that company is being socially responsible to the community that produce components for their devised. Apple Incorporated’s corporate responsibility rating is around 50% in 2014 (CSRHub, 2014).  The company must make sure that all employees and supplier must understand how important social responsibility is to the overall success of the company. The latest report from Apple Incorporated's supplier responsibility progress report shows that they have taken steps to fix the problems to included monitoring the number of hours worked by the workers. The company is providing educational programs to these workers (Jefferies, 2014). Apple Incorporated is trying to be more ethical and social responsible by monitoring and auditing their suppliers. The company tries it best to be a great place to work by allowing employees to purchase shares of stock at a discount.

Apple Incorporated presence in media over the negative press about the working conditions and how workers are being treated by the supplier has not affected growth and demand to its products. When reports of ethical and social responsibility violation are released to the press, Apple Incorporated sends a team of auditors to affect location to find deficiencies in how the workers and being treated and the working conditions. Apple Incorporated’s profit and demand for the products has kept rising over the years despite the numerous reports of ethical and social responsibility violations.

Apple Incorporated must decide on a method to ensure its supplier adheres to wage and benefits standards going forward. Apple Incorporated should increase the amount of payment to the suppliers and have written agreement that they will adhere to fair wage standards for it workers. With Apple Incorporated paying the suppliers more, the suppliers will obtain a better profit margin. Allowing the supplier to reinvest some of the profit into improving working conditions and hire quality, employees. If Apple Incorporated needs to increase the price of their products to help cover higher payments to the supplier it will not adversely affect the demand for their products because of the loyalty of the customers. If Apple Incorporated wants to achieve its goal of having good work environment and paying it workers a higher wage they must be willing to make a deal with the supplier to achieve this goal.
