I. Introduction
In this case, I will analyze the study performed by consultant Joanna Reed regarding The Donor Services Department of Sam Wilson's Sponsorship Agency in Guatemala City. My analysis will conclude by determining who should run the department and how the work should be structured. After this, I will summarize Joanna's analysis for submittal to Sam Wilson, national representative of the U.S. based agency.
II. Key Issues and Areas for Improvement
Upon observing the behaviors of the department and its management, the following issues were evident:
1. Sam, Jose, and Elena's management styles.
2. Employees do not identify with job due to lack of information sharing.
a. Employees are unclear how individual roles contribute to the company as a whole.
b. Unmotivated and low morale amongst the workforce.
c. Employee lack of training.
3. Unorganized workload.
a. Process contains unneeded steps.
b. Workload unevenly distributed.
4. Underutilized talent (i.e. bilingual translators that never use English or improve skills)
These issues were those that most impact your company and could ultimately result in mismanagement, employee dissatisfaction, decline in business performance as compared to your competitors, or, even worse, business dissolution.
