They offer full table service, room service and for leisure and recreation. All of these are indication that the lodging industry had gone way from being just simple and ordinary.

Lodging industry classifications is one way of identifying the strengths, weeknesses, oppurtunities and threats that will greatly affect the lodging operations.         There are hotel classifications according to price, function, location, market segment and distinctiveness of style or offerings. There are consumers looking for a nice room at a value. Business travelers who have to manage their expenses closely and spend less than they would at a full-service hotel. There are also guests who will demand for an extensive meeting and function space, typically including large ballrooms and even exhibition areas. Some of them want a comprehensive array of recreational amenities, depending on the geographic location, a resort, for an instance.

As the industry grows, demands and services are subject with complexity. It is expected that more creative innovations in the lodging industry will be introduced in the near future.
