Genting Berhad is a investment and management holding company of Genting Group, which is one of Asia’s leading Multinational conglomerate. Genting highland or known as resort world genting is a high altitude hill resort in Malaysia which located in the TItiwangsa mountains at the borders between states of Pahang and Selangor. It was founded by the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong in 1965 when he visionary to construct a 20 km access road across mountain which was located about 1740-metres above level sea. Genting highland is operated by Genting Berhad, which has also cover the operation of Awana resorts & hotels.
In 1971, the shares of Genting Berhad were listed on the main board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay is now the Chairman and Chief Executive of Genting Berhad. Genting Berhad has various investments in different industry and countries such as established Resort world in Singapore, cruise business, power generation, biotechnology, oil palm plantations, oil and gas, property, and others. Up to now, Genting Group consists of five public companies listed on Bursa Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore such as Genting Malaysia Berhad, Genting Berhad, Genting Plantation Berhad, Genting Hong Kong Limited, Genting Singapore PLC. Total market capitalizations for all of these listed company is more than RM110 billion (USD 31 billion). The Genting Group has more than 60,000 employees in the world, 246,000 hectares of plantation land, and 4,500 hectares of resort land and throughout Malaysia. Genting Group has also in connected with various remarkable international brands such as Universal Studios, Hard rock Hotel, premium outlets, twentieth century fox and others.
