While some people debate whether globalisation is real or not, it proceeds unstoppable affecting all societies, it also present us with unknown challenges and most Governments have started discussing what to do about this challenges, it became obvious that globalisation is not manageable. With globalisation juggernauts of the 21st century, Living standards advanced so rapidly and across so many countries over the last decade that it is difficult to think of parallels—even the deepest recession since the Great Depression did not halt progress. all countries in the world have become interdependent in relation to the coming energy crisis, climate change, the sharper cleavages between rich and poor countries and people and the emergency of multicultural social structure , take for example, result of globalisation in my country Nigeria.

Globalisation in Nigeria

Globalisation as a process results in the growing interconnection of the world. This process have huge impacts in the cultural, economic and political domain.

ECONOMY:

Globalization affects the Nigerian economy. The oil companies especially SHELL oil company became powerful through the globalization process in Nigeria. Local industries collapse due to the population demands of European goods. America is known as one of the leading countries in the world and this status largely influence the population demands on third world country. In addition, the media played a great role to the population socialization. It decreases considerably the population standard of living which is the reason why the IMF took the control of the economy.

The effects of globalisation can be seen on Economic Development within a country.
