Overview

Google is the world’s largest online index of websites and other content, which focuses on innovating the way people connect with information. They are the global technology leader and well recognized across the world. Google is available to anyone who has an Internet connection.

Google generates revenue through the use of cost-effective online advertising. The AdWords program is used by many businesses to promote their products and their services. Along with this, Google also does advertising on thousands of third party websites. In doing this they use Google Network and Google AdSense.

Google considers web search technology to be its primary industry but they are continuing to expand their products and services into new areas. They face competition from other online advertising companies. Their main competitors are Yahoo and Microsoft.

Issues

Google’s Issues are:

1. How to continue growing in advertisements while taking care of customer experience.

2. How to continue growth without jeopardizing their ethics.

3. Expanding Globally by penetrating all foreign markets to be the world leader in search engines and Internet advertising.

Vision, Mission Statement, and Objective

Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. They believe that the most effective and profitable way to do this is to put users first. By increasing their customer experience, it has led to increased traffic. They are a firm believer in word or mouth. They have made three key commitments to their users so they know they are putting them first.

1. They will do their best to provide the most relevant and useful users search results possible.

2. They will do their best to provide the most relevant and useful advertising. They don’t allow their advertisements to be annoying pop ups or interruptions.

3. They will never stop working on their user experience, search technology and other areas of information in the organization.
