GUINNESS: TRADITION AND INNOVATION

1. GUINNESS BRIEF HISTORY

Arthur Guinness started brewing ales at 1759 at the St. James’s Gate Brewery, Dublin for 9.000 years for just £45. The reason he has picked Dublin was the quality of the natural waters in Dublin.

Through the history of Guinness they had only two type of stouts, this is where the tradition of almost 300 years begin. By 1914, the factory was producing more than two billions of barrels and by 1930s the company was the 7th biggest company in the world.

Altough there were some rises and decreases in the history of Guinness, the company still lives as a legend.

2. GUINNES AND HEALTH

Old and recent researches proves that, some amount of Guinness each day is actually beneficial for the heart and some parts of human body. The company had used this scientific truth well in old times with the pick up lines like “Guinness is good for your health”, “ One Guinness a day keeps the doctor away”, however it has been forbidden to make alcohol advertisement using health factor for years.

3. INNOVATION

Guinness is a company which aims to stay classy, that is why they only have produced two stouts, they aim for the highest quality, even in the can they sell oceans away. Guinness spent 4 million dollars on a little sphere just the keep their famous foam, so people who can not go to the pubs can feel the experience as real as possible. This innovation effort has been very helpful for Guinness, in the end they have produced a brand which more famous than the original Guinness, “ Guinness World Records”.
