HMI Hit Song Science
If I am a successful producer, I will hold a negative attitude for HMI Hit Song Science. First I need to say, even the function how HMI Hit Song Science works sounds so high technology, it still not human. It may can analysis the melody, pitch, tempo for those popular songs, but it cannot decide whether a new song has potential or not only based on the previous criterion. People’s taste has moved with the times, HMI’ work is matching the trends, not predicting.
Second, as I said in the first part, there are too many unstable elements in HSS. Because of that, it is hard to set the price and decide which is the most potential market. Producers or artists may want to try HSS, but making songs is not a one-time shot, it is hard to say people will keep using HSS in the long term. Let alone the selling process, HSS has not enough budgets for advertising or selling approach. Which means HSS may attract some market after packaging,on the other hand it also has probability to loss everything.
Heineken
I think the beer itself is not luxury at all. Beer is absolute consumable; even it made by the best wheat and has the highest quality in the world. It still is a drink to quench the thirst and makes people relax. Why does beer start to be considered as a luxury good? The extra money people paid, is more likely for the fancy atmosphere or elegant environment. (Cite Exhibit7) Like purchasing luxury bags makes some people feel more confident, drinking premium beer may also let people feel more comfortable in a fine dinning restaurant.
Except taste and premiumness, the tradition, winning spirit, and friendship are kind of core concept of Heineken. In this day, we cannot just consider the raw material cost and the manufacturing cost, we also need to think about marketing cost. On the basis of quality, Heineken creates a brand meaning to convey to the audience. We can see Heineken’ premium beer is no longer a drink; it becomes more like a self-esteem or a communication tool. Compare to standard beer, premium has its own market and target customers, they can serve different companies separately. That’s why I think even beer also can become luxury product.
