Executive Summary:

All the key areas presented in this paper are necessary to help fit all employees into the company's strategic plan. Remember these are recommendations and not set in stone, so if there are more suggestions that can help improve the job analysis, selection process, orienting new employees, and training employees please feel free to offer your recommendations as well. The goal of this company is to be successful and to keep the restaurants we have operating and starting new ones as well. To ensure that this goal is met we need to focus on the strategic plan of having the right employees to keep this goal in reach. Thus the restaurant manager positions need to be one we take serious on finding the right candidates for the job.

I have put my recommendations below for selection process, orienting new employees, and training for your review. I also have attached a job analysis power point presentation for your review as well. With the information in this paper and the Power Point, I feel that there are great points that need to be addressed and suggestions that need to have action taken.

Selection Process:

Selection tools that I recommend for the position of restaurant manager are criminal background check, drug screening, employment verification, reference check, and behavioral analysis. It is important to know and understand the type of person that we will have working for the company and how they will deal with clients and other employees in different situations. All these types of selection tools will be beneficial in helping us find out what type of person we are considering hiring.

Drug screening and background checks will help give us insight on the morals and standards of the person being considered for the position. Doing a background check on employees not only does it protect the company from hiring someone that has a criminal or drug background but it will protect the company later if any was to happen illegal by that employee.

Reference checks and employment verification will help us find out if the employee really has the experience that they stated on their application and the personal references are another way to find out what type of person the future employee is.

The behavioral analysis is a recommendation that I think is a great selection tool to have for the position of restaurant manager, because it is about the psychological characteristics and behavior of
