JOB ANALYSIS OF MICROSOFT AND TATA MOTORS
INTRODUCTION
This report is prepared to find the job analysis criteria of same jobs but in two organisations of different sectors i.e. one from I.T. sector & the other from automobile sector. This is done by first providing information about the company- type of work carried on by them, their no of employees, etc as it will be useful while comparing the data of job analysis. In addition to it, mentioned is the job description and job specification. Later a difference between the job analysis of both organizations is seen to see the variation of criteria.
For the same I have selected Microsoft and Tata Motors Limited. I have chosen them as they are the major organizations in their sector. Both the companies operate globally, thus the job that they design is of utmost importance as it will affect their organization either in a positive way or in a negative way.
The jobs that I have chosen are Service Engineer & Human Resource Manager.
Job analysis refers to the process of obtaining all pertinent job facts. It is further categorised into job description (i.e. A statement containing items such as Job title, Location, Job summary, Duties) and job specification (i.e. A statement of human qualifications necessary to do the job. Usually contains such items as Education, Experience, Training, Judgement, Initiative, Physical efforts, Physical skills, Responsibilities, Communication skills)
This report will enhance my knowledge on the topic of the need of job analysis as an importance of human resource management process and it will also enable me to see the application of the same concept in real world.
