I took the assessment in the Mindtools program, and my score was 41. This meant that I was in the middle on the scores where 14-27 was a low motivation to lead, 28-55 had uncertainty about motivation to lead, and 56-70 implied a strong motivation to lead. The interesting part is, I like to lead, I prefer it.

The only thing I don’t like is babying anyone. I am not one’s mother, so I don’t intend to act like it. I am a very cut and dry person and I tend to not let other people’s emotions impact how I lead. It states that people like myself should explore the idea or Transformational Leadership, which is being a role model for the team and motivating them. I typically am the type of leader to hand someone their portion of the work and give them a deadline and tell them to contact me if they have questions, at that point, if they have any I will help them, but I won’t babysit them as we are all adults and we are all responsible for our own work. If someone doesn’t have their part done and I have checked in on them etc., then I will have to do their work and then let the instructor know or whoever is in charge for example. I know that I give myself plenty of time because I will allow for an extra day to do assignments for the just in case moments where someone might not do their part, or they missed something. I am a strong leader when it comes to getting things organized and completed and I admit that I am not always the best team player, but I have been told that I make one amazing leader because of how strict I am. I usually aim for the sky and I don’t stop until I achieve it.
