Leadership Motivation Assessment
For week three course, we were assigned to take a Leadership Motivation Assessment that was provided by a website named Mindtools. Mindtools.com specializes in offering a variety of tools and information to help the average person excel in whatever career endeavor that you are trying to achieve. The assessment that was provided for the class was a leadership test to show my leadership skills. After taking the test, the scare provided a score of 62%. This score does not surprise me at all. I am currently a manager at an in-home living facility. The patients that are being assisted are elderlies with different kinds of dementia. As a manager, covering 85 employees and 215 patients can be challenging. Although there can be a lot of confrontation, it is well managed and runs the business smoothly.
Every two weeks on a Tuesday, there is a mandatory meeting on how management can provide awareness and apply new changes to the company. Every day, on every shift there is a brief meeting of how many patients was admitted into the community. Also, how many residents has passed and what the employees can do to remember the patients by. Although I am in upper management, I also work in teams. Leadership with other leaders is a team in itself. Working with employees can be fun, and it also can be a challenge. Working together and communication is a big factor in working at the Assistant Living Community. Always be a great listener and lead with positive energy, motivate the employee when they are not focused. Always be attentive to staff and customers. Positivity and communication are the primary keys to success with working in teams.
