Leadership Analysis

  1. Am I a leader?  If so, what skills do I currently have which are valuable? What skills do I lack, need to build or acquire?

I believe I am a leader.  Currently I believe I have charisma, and an understanding of delegation and how important it is.  I do think through that, there are skills that I need to build.  I believe that I need to build the skills of emotional intelligence, and my organizational approach.

  1. Do I possess certain leadership traits? Do I lack certain leadership traits?

I believe I possess the leadership traits of Self Assurance, Conscientiousness, and Tough Mindedness.  The area I feel I lack are Dominance and Social boldness.  

  1. How does my view on what is ethical impact my leadership style?

My view on ethics affects all facets of my leadership style.  My ethical beliefs will steer my decision making and dealing with followers.

  1. If leadership tends to require different approaches for different situations, are there certain situations where I believe I excel? Or, am deficient? Or, would prefer to never be in?

I do believe that I can excel in high-pressure situations.  With my ability to delegate and stay calm, I believe I can be effective in those kinds of situations.  

  1. Do I enjoy coaching and mentoring roles? If so, even if I don't desire to be the "top dog" or a CEO someday, how does my interest in coaching and mentoring reflect my status as a leader?

I am interested and enjoy coaching and mentoring.  Sharing knowledge creates a bond between the coach and the follower.  This bond directly reflects to my status as a leader.  

Justification of Communication Medium

     The medium I am choosing is 5 to 7 minute audio visual presentation.  The reason I am choosing this method is so the listener can hear the inflection in my voice.  I really believe that verbal communication is strong and can relay a message more directly and succinctly than just a written communication.
