In this period of numerous changes, managers have to nowaday face new situations and problems everyday. That is why there is need of managers that can face these new situations constantly without getting surprised or miscouraged by any situation. The most important skills that a manager has to embrace and have are many and will get even more with time, as the market requires more every day.

Communication is one of the most important skills a manager should posses, because he has to communicate with his employees, co-workers, customers and his own manager or executive (Harwell 2009). Another very important skill is to listen, as it’s not important only to tell. Listening helps managers improve and discover and know more about theyr organization. Great interpersonal skills are required too, for a long and successfull managerial career.

In todays market though even more is required, because of the globalization of more and more companies, crossing different countries to offer their services. A skill so called “global mind-set” (Andrew L. Molinsky 2012) is nowadays getting to be requirement more than a bonus for managers in the market now. This skill is for those managers who work for their company in another country, where they will work with different co-workers speaking another language and behaving differently than the one they used to. These managers have challenged themselves to be as effective they can be in another country, overcoming the problem of the language and culture.
