This paper will discuss how internal and external forces affect the organizational behavior of each team member's workplace.
The business world is constantly changing and evolving their organizational behaviors. The aspects that are the catalyst in the modifications are organizational mission, fiscal policy, competition, economy, customer demands, globalization and restructuring. Placing all of these levers, companies are finding they have to take a look at them to ensure they have a business strategy that will go along with them to ensure they are staying in business and are continuing to be profitable.
The world of retail has seen many different levers that have helped and hindered their business strategies and these have caused massive changes in how they run their day to day operations. With the constant changes in technology, the internet is the biggest factor in every aspect of organizational behavior for companies today. Getting connected and continuing to compete, but keeping in mind what the customer needs is just two of the areas where the evolution has begun. Best Buy has restructured and focused on the connected world by changing their operations model to accommodate these changes to stay successful and to gain more of a market share through these changes in how they run their business. Competition with online companies is Best Buys biggest area of opportunity. These companies like Amazon are offering lower prices for the same items and customers are watching their money now with other influences to their checkbooks. The economy in the past several years has not afforded for pleasure spending and when people need to replace those luxury items, they are shopping for the best deals and really watching their money. But customers also what to see the products and will come to a store to get the information, although they have already done a fair amount of research about the items, put their hands on it, talk to a knowledgeable sales person, then go home and buy it on the internet which is killing businesses. Best Buy is one of the leaders in the nation that is pushing for legislation to combat some of the issues that online retailers offer like no sales tax on items. This hurts local economies and directly affects police and fire departments.
