Innovations are seldom predictable or follow a specific time line. Nevertheless, there is compelling evidence that the momentum of information and communication technologies have accelerated in the past several decades. Additionally, both commercial and home use of new technologies have accelerated and accepted to make effective the new technologies. The rate at which organizations and households adopt the technologic advances can impact the economy. The shift from 2G to 3G to 4G wireless and web infrastructure can lead to the creation of new jobs. Moreover, the successful adoption of 4G could enhance universal broadband service with high-speed connectivity.
With technology making great strides, the online radio industry is taking off to new levels. Technology giants such as Apple, Google, Amazon, and even smaller companies such as Pandora are focusing on online streaming. Pandora is moving towards a more personal premium platform.
The e-commerce is also continuing to operate at great speed. Retail giants such as Walmart are continuing to be cost leaders while mastering the art of supply chain management (SCM). They continue to excel in distribution practices and coordinate their inventory electronically and efficiently.

Broadband
As with electricity about one century ago, broadband is seen as a platform for economic growth, job creation, global transparency and probable enhancement of everyday life. It allows for exploring new opportunities and enhancing the current technologies. It is altering the way we learn in school (virtual), making delivery of healthcare easier (robotic surgery), quicker (laser technology), pain-free (or just lesser pain), engage government (DARPA), collect and disseminate information (BI) (Paparone, 2014). There are an increasing number of households that have broadband and connecting to additional valuable applications with the use of more innovative devices.
U.S economy. As the economy continues to struggle through the unemployment rate, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is launching the National Broadband Plan. There has been huge investment in broadband networks resulting in enabling offering more broadband technologies, enabling the demand to increase the supplier network (vendors). This trend has also lead to the creation of new jobs and training for previous jobs. Due to the increasing investment in the overall broadband infrastructure has allowed more household to subscribe to the service (Department of Labor).
