Assessment 1

M1 Telecommunication

Mission Statement:

Starting with the description of the mission statement for M1, a renowned telecommunication company in Singapore, with the mission of valued proposition and customer focused business.  M1 believes in making a strong market presence and imply innovation in their business strategies. They align this with their vision to be the leader in communications, distinguished by innovativeness and dedication to our customers, people and shareholders. In view of that, M1 Telecommunication mission is to: “Linking anyone and anything; anytime, anywhere” (M1).

Specific tasks to accomplish the mission:

 Some of tasks that need to be taken care of for the accomplishment of the mission are summarized as below:

  1. Managing novel approach and a fresh strategy that can be utilize in marking a strong presence in the telecommunication market.
  2. Review the market and evaluate customer focused needs to further improve the stance in the market.
  3. Proposing innovative ideas, services and products based on customer preference (McDonald, 2007).
  4. Propose better quality services and ensure best product to keep the mission of best customer-organization relationship.
  5. Best operational management regarding the maintenance and response against any problems.
  6. Ensuring 24/7 customer helpline service, dedicated for the valued customers and improving the relationship.
  7. Making a strong branding presence which is ensured by a good marketing manager and team (Williams, 2008).
  8. Most prolific relationship management with the employees, customer and that ensure the mission of linking every one under banner of M1 telecommunication.

Based on that, the organizational chart constructed in view of these task, explaining the tasks deliverance in the company:

Managing the operations in different cities:

Considering the proposed scenario of increasing the operations in five different locations, I would exhibit a centralized management system where different franchise offices would work in coordination with the main building. To maintain a smooth communication and keeping in touch with each of franchises, I would dedicate communication management system. This would link every office under one banner of M1 and then introduce the performance management system to further keep these five offices in touch. However, the most prominent issues and challenges that would arise from the managing these franchises include: 1) limited productivity and growth expectation, 2) Difficult physical approach to the offices (Alon, 2010), 3) Bringing the Right Staff on Board, 4) Understanding the Role as Franchisor (Wilson, 2011) and last but not the least 5) Providing an effective management systems (BRODY, 2013).
