Article Summary
Having a clear vision of the company processes have been one of managers’ major concerns. During last years, organizational charts have been a poor solution; they mostly focus on what is mesmerized with management, through a very complex structured way. A new way to analyze company has been created; organigraphs are very complete and comprehensive drawings or maps that show a broad company overview, they are create by managers through a process of imagination in order to show companies opportunities. Organigraphs stimulate the standardization and increase reliability though the use of chains, better represented through Hubs (core competence) and webs (relationships, networks).
Relationship to the Class
In my opinion, this article completely relates with the class because it is showing an innovative and clear way of looking at the company. Creating strategy requires a deep knowledge of the company in general, the necessity of a broad understanding of process relationships, and the impact they make one to other. By using organigraphs, CEO’s and managers have a scope of the business, they can clearly understand the company principal operations and even better, focus on the main opportunities and approaches, which will be later translated on the company operational strategies.
Personal Reaction to the Article
This article was really informative, I was aware of the regular organizational charts but no about these proficient graphic maps.
