|| RELFECTION NOTE || INTERVIEW ||
Name of interviewee: Ajith Krishnan
Name of interviewer: Ashwathy Menon
Methodology followed:
The interview followed a semi-structured format, and very person-oriented. Some of the questions were prepared earlier, while others were more of cross-questioning nature to secure more clarity in the answers provided. The other was fairly fixed. The venue of the interview is the person’s room, which allows for more freedom and a relaxed setting, and the interviewee was casually eating, which shows the level of freedom and relaxed atmosphere that he was interviewed in, although both these aspects are not recorded on video. The questions asked were (not in order):
- Please provide a brief introduction of yourself.
- Why did you do an MBA?
- So if not for an MBA, what would you have done?
- Describe in an ideal day, what you would have liked to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- What are your hobbies?
- What are the things that you do during the day that make you happy?
- When you are upset, sad or angry, what do you do to make yourself happy or normal again?
- What is an ideal day for you?
- Who are the people that you like hanging out with?
- Do you make your own happiness or do you believe that it is largely dependent on the external environment?
- Do you consider happiness as an end goal?
With the information that he provided in the answers, I tried constructing an ideal picture of happiness for him, only to be told that it was too unrealistic a picture for him to consider as a portrait of happiness. He did conclude that it would be ideal in the long term, however.
Analysis and broad conclusions:
Ajith is a social, bubbly, outgoing personality, who loves meeting and maintaining close conversations with people, and surrounded by the company of his friends. He is also a person who takes life very easily, although when it comes to work, he prefers to put in all his efforts and concentration.
