RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MANAGER AND EXTROVERSION

Personality psychologist believes that human personality is divided into five basic personalities that often referred as the big five personality traits. One of them is extroversion, as a term used by C. G Jung as the attitudes of people to direct the energy. Basically, someone with extroversion personality traits will include characteristic such as excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness, and high amounts of emotional expressiveness. Individual with high extroversion traits tend to be described as being full of life, energy and positivity to always seek out social stimulation and opportunity to engage with others.

Having extroversion in management will lead into a clear authority structure and direction, as it is supported by how extroversion individual are more forceful in delivering opinion. As being bold, aggressive, and grandiose, extroversion like to be the center of attention and always enthusiast involving in everything that comes along, they can also be the trigger in doing the activity. Unfortunately by this huge energy, extroversion will not belong with other extroversion in an organization, as because it will create friction among them because each of extroversion wants to be stand out and potentially alienating other organizational members who also get that attention and shared credits. Extroversion has that dominance complementary in organization that has possibility to keep information needs to be shared to other members.

The best solution is by having both extroversion and introversion in an organization. Each of extroversion and introversion can balance and compliment each other and direct the organization to success. As because introversion has the ability to be more likely listen suggestions carefully and support employees’ to be more proactive. While only having extroversion in organization the competition will be too harsh as each of them want to be heard. Each of extroversion will discouraging each other and will lead the organization willingness to share idea and would limit the creativity and innovation of the organization as each of the extroversion of individual wants to keep the attention for them.
