By submitting their ideas through Facebook, and then voting for their own flavour creations, which the winning flavour will be launched in stores in 2013. The winner’s prize is either one million dollars or one percent of their flavour 2013 net for sales. They launched a commercial in July advertising the contest; they endorsed celebrity chef and actress Eva Longoria to front up the campaign. These two have appeared on national television, online advertising, and retail marketing campaign to support the contest. In the commercial, they targeted anyone over the age of 18 plus, displaying people of different social class and ethic groups shouting out potential ideas. The requirements are to create a 30 second commercial for Doritos, the winner receives a million dollars and their commercial airs during the super bowl. Entering their seventh anniversary, Doritos decided to throw in big game changers, which no other contest can compare to. This year they increase the value of the winner prize, not only do they win a million dollars, but also an opportunity to work on the next installment of Transformer franchise. One of the top entries, a commercial called “Prey like a bird”, tells a ridiculous story about a man who becomes a bird when he wants Doritos.
