Sex on the Moon
“Sex on the Moon” is short for “Sex on the Moon: The Amazing Story Behind the Most Audacious Heist in History”, which is written by Ben Mezrich. This is a novel about the main character, named Thad Roberts, who stole the very precious moon rocks from NASA. I like this novel, because it describes the internal mind of the characters deeply, which, as for me, is the most attract point when I was reading it. “Sex on the Moon” is really a good novel by Ben Mezrich, who I prefer his writing style as well.
The story begins with the character, Thad Ryan Roberts, who got a miserable childhood. His parents abandoned him in his childhood. After a very long hard time, he became ex-Mormon, and he made his mind to go to school. He becomes University of Utah student and finally got the very essential internship from NASA in Houston. His dream is just hoping to eventually become an astronaut at that time. Even though Thad Robert had a bad childhood, he is a genius, because tries his best to change the way he likes. He treats NASA as his own home. However, because of his a miserable childhood, he became very insecure at the beginning. He was short of being loved, and wants people to like him. He needs honor and respect. I remember in the book, it there is a plot that when he steps into a room, he desires other people’s sight.
Thad Roberts is a genius, so that he can become intern in NASA, which means a bright and promising career for him. The climax of this novel is that he came out romantic but crazy idea, which is that “He wanted to give his girlfriend the moon.” He convinced his love, Rebecca, Sandra and Gordon to accomplices. They are all NASA interns. Later, the group broke into an impregnable laboratory in Building 31, and stole lunar samples moon rocks. The process of the theft is very impressive to me.
