Established 25 years ago, the company Sky-Sea is a tour operator proposing various products: leisure hotels, tours, cruises, week end holidays, customized travels, trekking, flights, seminars, adventure holidays, themed vacations…The agency propose many destinations, around 60 countries at the moment.
The agency has the official tour operator status, licensed by the state, and has signed the CETO Travel Charter (Quality charger for touristic companies). Thus the agency is well-recognized and guaranteed by the CETO charter.
Sky-Sea is made of 665 employees and has realized an activity volume of 320 million Euros last year.
The organization is as follows:
- The headquarter (31 persons) based in Boulogne-Billancourt (92)regroup the Board of Directors, the administrative workers and the “offer conception” teams
- The IT center (25 persons) is settled in Evry and regroups all IT teams of the company. They also control all servers, the company web site and the access to internet for the whole group.
- Customer calls are managed by 2 call centers from an external partner, Marga, and they are located in Lyon and Dublin.
- Commercial agencies are constituted by 4 to 10 persons depending from their size. There are 105 agencies spread over the biggest cities in the world (in Europe, Asia, North America, Central America, South America and Africa).
- In order to assist the company for additional services, external business partner can access the IT tools of Sky-Sea and book trains, hotels, car or cultural events pass.
Bernard Escribano and Marc his brother, manage together the company Sky-Sea. Bernard owns 80% of the capital and Marcs owns 20%. Thus Bernard is considered as the boss. The employee’s turnover is low as the company prefers keeping employees for their qualifications and competences. For example Arlette Chef and Remi Mitsuko were the two first employees when Bernard started the company and Louis Cyprès was also the first salesman at that time. The average age of employees in headquarter is 40 years old.
Paul Rossi, who just graduated from Montpellier Business School, has recently been hired as assistant for the Administrative Services Management Office director at headquarter, M. Souris. M.Souris is retiring in 6 month and Paul could be his successor. Mister Marc Escribano himself (the adjunct CEO) just gave Paul the mission to settle a project of modernization of the headquarter department with the help of a consulting agency in order to move from a day-to-day management to an activity based organization.
The Administrative Services Management Office count 19 people and the following sub-departments: Human resources, Accounting &Finance and Production. From the last 10 years, the company has been in a growing expansion time with many big changes. But Administrative Services are late on the change…They are still operating as M. Souris organized them when he joined the company in 1998.
The financial crisis but above all the arrival of Bernard’s son, Guilhem, in the management committee leads to new thought. Guilhem is 27 years old and has been graduated from Tours Business School.
