For a new employee at the Travel agency
Employee orientation is the process of introducing employees to their new jobs and work environments. Orientation provides an opportunity for new employees to become acclimated to their new company, department, colleagues and work expectations. Orientation process at our company begins with the preparation stage:
- informing all staff of a new employee and the position
- allocate the work place
- assign work tools (uniform, etc)
- Prepare the program of activities for the orientation day.
New employee experiences on the first day of work will leave a lasting impression. You need to offer a first-day welcome to begin the process of making them feel at home. I personally welcome a new employee warmly and escort him to his workplace.
After that I usually invite them to my office to have some coffee where I shortly catch up with the last interview points and explain the structure of the company, our values and culture, mission, vision and goals. I also always provide the employee the company handbook with the relevant information on the leave rules, holiday schedule, benefits and regulations. Then I introduce the newcomer to other members of the working team and especially to his mentor. Mentor can then make a tour on the office amenities and explain all safety procedures.
Mentorship programs have become a popular way for some businesses to assist new employees during the initial months on the job. The function of a mentor within mentorship programs is to act as an additional source of support during an employee's early period with your company. Mentors act as a guide to your new employee helping him to adapt into the environment and gain valuable, exchanging real experience and skills that he should perform.
After the tour with mentor then we follow with Supervisor introductory meeting with new employee:
