HRM Incident 1
1. I think that there should be a minimum education requirement for the meter reader job, that way the company can make sure that the employees are well educated and that they have the minimum skills for doing the job and even have an option to get a promotion in the future.
2. I think that Sam’s effort to upgrade the people in the organization is a really good idea, although it will make Judy’s job much difficult in the near future, in the long run it will make the company much more appreciate and with much more potential to promote the good Meter readers to higher positions.
3. The legal ramification that Sam should have considered are the blaming discrimination that future candidate may raise, they can say that there are employees that doing the same job but with no college degree. Another point is that if Sam decides to fire the employees that have no college degree, he can also have legal ramification and get the organization in lawsuit problems.
HRM Incident 2
1. I think Charmagne di considered the strategic of human resource planning when she decided to challenged Brian’s “good news”, she knew that the employees that are working now at the company don’t have the expertise required to produce the job in the quality that Medord’s particular specification require, she knows that in that case she will have to recruit new employees that will cost the company much more and it will take some time to recruit them.
2. The involvement in developing the corporate strategic assisted Charmagne in challenging brian by knowing what are the corporates plan regarding the employees training, and knowing the time that it will take to retrain them in order to have the expertise required to produce the job in the quality that companies like Medord’s requires.
