Wal-Mart was founded by Sam Walton in Bentonville, Arkansas. It is the world’s largest retailer employing over 2 million employees and operating over 8,500 stores on a global scale. Its strategy is to provide quality products using everyday low prices. The company’s product offerings range from apparel and housewares to electronics. One of Wal-Mart’s key competitive advantages lends itself to a successful supply chain model.
