This assignment looks upon HR role on talent Management and identifies if talent management is effective in organizations or seen to be time consuming for organizations to grasp. It is difficult to understand specifically what talent management is within an organization as in a CIPD report only 20% of respondents had a formal definition (CIPD staff. (2012).Talent Management can be defined as “the systematic attraction, identification, development, engagement, retention and deployment of those individuals who are of particular value to an organisation, either in view of their ‘high potential’ for the future or because they are fulfilling business/operation-critical roles” (CIPD staff. (2012). In organizations there are many ways to look at talented individuals which can be seen as either being inclusive or exclusive, inclusive looks at all individuals being talented within the workforce while exclusive looks at focusing talent on need. There are different methods organizations take when identifying talented individuals as can be seen as one method argues “ensure the right person is in the right job at the right time (Jackson & Schuler, 1990, p. 235) while another states “a deliberate and systematic effort by an organization to ensure leadership continuity in key positions and - Process

Encourage individual advancement” (Rothwell, 1994, p. 6) , even though they are apparently similar they are confusing to on the outcome of TM due to the processes in place.
