Abstract

In the following paper, this writer will discuss the service strategy of Texoma Regional Clinic. Topics discussed will include how the service strategy creates a healing environment and how the strategy affects employees, patients, and visitors, Additionally, this writer will discuss how the service strategy creates a customer service culture and how the strategy creates an employee environment.

Texoma Regional Clinic Service Strategy

A service strategy is built upon the foundation laid out in an organization’s mission and vision statements (Fottler, Ford, & Heaton, 2011). For this reason, the service strategy of Texoma Regional Clinic will follow in the footsteps of the mission and vision statements previously discussed. The main goals of Texoma Regional Clinic are to provide the low-income, underinsured, and uninsured community members with quality healthcare services for free or at a very minimal cost. Through donations from community members and funding provided by Texoma Medical Center, the clinic will be able to offer the community the up-to-the-minute diagnostics, testing, treatments, and care that they deserve. Texoma Regional Clinic staff believes that no individual should be denied healthcare based on their inability to pay, and furthermore, that worries over the financial burden of healthcare costs can worsen health. Texoma Regional Clinic will treat patients and coworkers with the utmost respect, and doctor, nurse, patient, and receptionist will all work together to bring true healing to the community.

Patients will notice a difference in Texoma Regional Clinic from their first encounter with staff members. Whether the patient is a walk-in or makes an appointment over the phone, staff will treat the patient as a person seeking help and not just an insurance card or an empty bank account. Socioeconomic status has been proven to be directly related to health status. Those with a lower socioeconomic status, such as those with low-paying jobs and poor education are much more likely to have poor health (Crimmins, 2010). By serving this group of people, Texoma Regional Clinic is able to provide hope for an entire group of people who already have it bad enough. Texoma Regional Clinic will offer information for each patient as deemed relevant about help for addiction, housing, food sources, jobs, and education. Texoma Regional Clinic believes in providing a hand up, not a hand out.
