1. What was the major recommendation of the Organizational Effectiveness (OE) Department to Don Rogers?

The major recommendation was the create project teams that were cross-functional. They would have multiple people from different divisions on the same department. They would be able to work together with the perspectives from different departments, and were able to communicate with the other departments easier.

The marketing team was to be the coordinating function. They would be personally trained by the OE specialist who would provide feedback and guide them. They would be the project team coordinators.

The Product developmental staff was withdrawn to the Resource Allocation Team. The project planning was to be delegated to the project teams.

Training would be switched to a more directive management style. He had to be stronger and more strict and clear with his expectations. Each team would report to the top about their projects and then then the groups with the worst relations would be coached by the OEs

Accounting changes to profit margin would make the plant more responsible for their own actions.

2. As stated in the case, during April and May the proposed changes were communicated widely. What seems to be the most important concern regarding the proposed plan?

The teams complaints were that they were all doing everything making it hard for them to concentrate and focus on one thing. Accountability of the decision making was decentralized making the executive team frustrated with the inability to make proper informed decisions.
