This past weekend I had a long workout and immediately followed it with dinner with some friends. Still exhausted from my workout and knowing that I had a long night ahead of me I decided to take a power nap in the back of my Uber. I spent over ten minutes repositioning my head into the right spot only to realize that I had made it to my destination. This is why I wanted to introduce a revolution in the travel pillow industry, The Power Paw.
The Power Pillow is a fun, little, portable pillow that you can slip over either hand and take convenient power naps anywhere, anytime. Its clever little design allows you to rest in postures that will not affect your sleep quality. Weighing on 10oz and only 7 inches wide It can be stored in almost any purse or backpack. In addition, the pillow comes with installed Bluetooth speakers allowing you to listen to any type of music before you fall asleep.
Our target market will be middle-age city people who use taxis, trains, airlines, or some form of public transportation. Traffic in major cities causes people to spend a lot of time in vehicles. Everyone wants to feel comfortable while traveling, and the Power Paw will make sure of that comfort.
A growing number of Americans are driving less. The trend is gaining traction in middle-aged adults, to the point where fewer of them are even bothering to get or renew their driver's licenses, but it's been prominent among younger adults. According to the study, only 70 percent of 19-year-olds have a driver's license in 2014, compared with almost 90 percent in 1983.
For market size the global sleep aid market accounted for $61 million in 2015 so people do have trouble sleeping. My strategy to launch will rely heavily on marketing media to attract my target audience, whether it’s through social media or giving out stickers and coupons at train stations and airports.
