The Study of Argentina and Outsourcing
I. Introduction
Argentina is one of the largest countries located in South America. It is considered to be the eighth largest country in the entire world. When you think of Argentina, you may think of its vast wilderness and the metropolitan cities, hardly anyone will think about the opportunity that they have to offer the business world of outsourcing skills. This paper will give you a brief look into the background of Argentina and how they outsource. This country creates more of an impact than most people will give it credit for. Hopefully, by the end of this paper you will come to learn and appreciate this country more than you already do.
II. Country Information
Let’s start by learning more about the country. Argentina has a population of about 42.2 million. About 64% of its population is between the ages of 15 and 64. If you take a look at Image 1, you can see the size of the country and the general distribution of where the population of Argentina lives. Argentina is filled with many bilingual people. The common language is Spanish, which is locally called Castellano. Some other languages that are known to Argentinians are Italian, German, and English.
On the Economic front of things, Argentina is not on top of the world like China or Brazil, but they are also not on the bottom. On the Global Competitive Index, Argentina has a GCI score of 3.9, and their Macroeconomic Stability index is 4.8. Both of these numbers show that Argentina is not underdeveloped, but is slowly making its mark and working its way up. Their Gross Domestic Product is about $368.7 billion and their Gross National Income Per Capita is about $9,071. These numbers, like their Macroeconomic Stability index number, show that Argentina is not underdeveloped, but is slowly making its mark and working its way up in the world.
III. Outsourcing Specialties
Argentina is outsourced to for their IT and Software knowledge. They have four sectors that they are knowledgeable in. These areas are value-added IT services, healthcare, digital content and internet related solutions, and agribusiness. There are other sectors as well where Argentina is slowly showing a growing knowledge of. According to sources, Argentina is exported $770 million for IT services and also $3.7 billion for technical and business service. These are only a two areas that they are being exported to this country.
IV. Major Companies Outsourcing in Country
Argentina has slowly become one of the popular places for companies to outsource to.
