1) Explain on the six source of leadership [12m]
The Leadership is the process of influence others to achieve organization goals. There’s six types of leader power which Legitimate Power, Reward Power, Coercive Power, Expert Power, Information Power and Reference Power. Legitimate Power comes from position in hierarchy and expert in position. Reward Power capacity to control and provide valued rewards. Coercive power is ability to punish when performance is very bad. Expert Power is the based on the expertise that valued others. Information Power is the control and give over distribution of important information about organisation. The Reference Power is results being admired or give by others.
2) Define a Charismatic Leader. Explain with example.
Charismatic Leader are essentially very skilled communicator where by verbally eloquent but also communicate with followers on a deep, emotional level.
3) Differentiate between a transformational and transactional leader [6m]
In Transactional Leadership, Leadership is responsive while in Transformation Leadership is Proactive. Secondly, normally transactional works within in organisational culture while transformation work to change organizational culture by implanting new idea. Transactional leaders make employee change achieve the organizational objective through rewards and punishment while in transformation leadership motivate and empower to achieve company objective by appealing to higher ideas and moral values.
4) In a long term, discuss which type of leadership is more sustainable between transformational and transactional leader [4m]
The Transformational is most sustainable because the particular individual to perform beyond high level goals rather than low level. The have confidence in their abilities to achieve the extraordinary missions articulated missions by the leader.
