1. Executive summary

It is an undeniable fact that nowadays organizations have to operate in a very competitive environment. This competition requires from organizations to improve their internal procedures every day in order to operate as more efficiently as possible. This paper analyzes in depth two theories of Organizational Behavior, “Motivation” and “Communication”.

The first part of this paper analyzes the method of “Goal Setting” by describing an actual case which occurs in a Greek multinational company with a rapid growth the last fifteen years. Because of this rapid growth the top management of this company had to deal with the reduction of productivity.
