In this homework assignment I will try to discuss Wal-Mart's mission and vision statement as well as its code of ethics. It is a well-known fact that Wal-Mart had and still has many issues regarding ethics.
Wal-Mart's Mission:
• "We save people money so they can live better" in addition to this mission statement, the company's purpose is "If we work together, we'll lower the cost of living for everyone…we'll give the world an opportunity to see what it's like to save and have a better life."
• In order to fulfill this mission Wal-Mart implemented policies to create the right corporate culture.
• Open door policy
• Open doors for all level employees
• Sundown rule
• Answering Questions from employees, costumers, and suppliers on the same day as being received.
• Grass Roots process
• Capturing suggestions and ideas from the sales floor and front line.
• 3 basic beliefs and values
• Respect for the individual, service to our customers, striving for excellence
• 10 foot rule
• Making eye contact, greeting, and offering help to customers who come within 10 feet
