Walmart, an international branded discount retail chain, is the brainchild and success story of entrepreneur Sam Walton. Walton bought a retail store in Bentonville, Arkansas in 1950; and developed the first “Walton Five and Dime” into today’s corporate one name giant of Walmart that services customers locally and around the globe. By 2004, Walmart was named the most admired company in America and the profits exceeded one hundred and fifty-six million dollars. In addition to the United States, Walmart has operations in Central America, Brazil, Canada, United Kingdom, India and Japan. Walmart not only sells brands of products for other business, the company also owns and sells its own list of brands at profit. Major brands privately owned by Walmart include Sam’s Choice, Great Value, Equate, Mainstays, Ol’ Roy, Dr. Thunder, Parent’s Choice, White Stag, George, Price First, Play Day, and many others. “Walmart share price attained all-time high of $90.97 on November 1, 2014, up from $12.25 two decades earlier. The company went public in 1970. (Chatham, 2015) A company that never stands still, Walmart is recently engaging in new business endeavors that will lead to profitability. This organization is considering enhancing an existing product or service to meet expanding customer needs.

II. Research Tools

A. Surveys

Some of the research tools that we as a team will be using to examine the scenario in our market implementation plan will be to conduct surveys, not only at the store level but also online. It should be able to provide information on customer satisfaction with the current service and what the customer think about enhancing the existing service to meet their needs. Taking into consideration the growing market of online shoppers it will take the customers experience and their opinions on enhancing the service of online shopping and delivery at store or home.

In the need to provide our customers the best customer service the team will be using both primary and secondary data to collect information that will help the organization into making the adequate decision on whether to expand the service currently provided by the store. There are two types of information: primary information which is collected specifically for the problem at hand and secondary data is information already collected (Burns &Bush, 2006).
