Weaknesses of Carnival Cruise Line
Carnival Cruise Line is a company that provides you, your family, and your friends a chance to get away. Carnival Cruise Line caters to all ages, therefore it is a perfect vacation for anyone! Features of this cruise line include onboard activities and off board activities, along with a variety of dining selections, comedy shows, and a spectacular nightlife for kids and adults. Although this company is stacked with awesome features, it is just like any other company. By this I mean… Carnival Cruise Line does have its weaknesses, in which I will be discussing in the following paragraph.
Weaknesses that a company engages in are like challenges to them. It is a constant battle to keep improving your company and making sure it’s up to date. Besides weather issues that every other cruise line in the world has to deal with as well, I am going to explain some weaknesses that apply specifically to Carnival. “In the middle of economic uncertainty Carnival has 13 ships under construction as of November 2009, and the estimated cost of all this growth is around $8.2 billion.” ("Carnival cruises swot," 2012). As you can see from this statement, not only does Carnival have to worry about onboard activities but they also have to maintenance the ships to keep them in top shape. Another weakness that Carnival deals with is the regions of which the guests are from. “Overdependence on sluggish North American region.” ("Carnival corporation & plc," 2010). If Carnival is dependent on North America and something happened that caused a decline in the demand for cruises in North America, Carnival Cruise Line is going to experience a significant decrease of business.
