ABSTRACT:
Working Women, the most important asset for any institution. They take deep routed care to improve quality foot prints of their own institute. In the history of development of human, women have been as vital in the history as men have been. In fact, higher the status of working women and her performance, greater is the significance of nation’s progress as a whole. But is it really sustainable service by this important asset or they are facing hurdles also! So this research paper is undertaken. Glass ceiling syndrome is becoming an enemy for most of the working women and because of this reason, it is creating hurdle for progress of some working women. Data is being collected through structured closed ended questionnaire by personally interviewing the respondents.A Sample of 60 working women is taken for this survey. Analysis is carried out by using various statistical tests in SPSS.

INTRODUCTION
In Indian History, women were handling only house hold duties, most of the girls were not even allowed to pursue education. From their childhood, they were being given training of cooking, cleaning, suing, and other house hold work only with the assumption that after marriage, they will have to render these duties only. But today’s scenario has completely changed because of the changed mind set. In today’s empowered world, women are riding two horses together! She has to manage herself for Social responsibilities as well as the Professional responsibilities. Since last few decades, number of womenis successful in the Politics, Technology, Business, Sports, Academics, Research, Aviation, Civil Services, Other Services Sector and what not! However, it is true that working women have to face problems. In our history, only men were the breadwinner of the family but today, everything has changed. Women are working and developing the whole nation. But just because she has also became a bread winner like men, her responsibilities towards her home don’t get over. Once she is passing through her life cycle and once she is getting married, her responsibilities towards her in-laws, kids and all other responsibilities increases. Most importantly, in her later life she is feeling guilty that she couldn’t gave enough time to her family members and children because of her job and this glass ceiling syndrome is badly affecting over her overall health and mental level.Advances in technology, increased education, evolving work and family roles of women.
