The United States remains to be most cultural diverse and political tolerance globally. This is despite the many trials the American people have witnessed previously and presently which threatens to shake the tolerance capability. United States is considered to be a highly progressive nation in matters pertain economic, social and political inclusion that are the basic parameters in realizing full democracy.

Development of comprehensive democratic systems which ensures inclusion, social cohesion and accountability can be attributed to the prevalent phenomenon in U.S. clear definition of constitutional rights for every American have played a critical role in making the nation resilience overcoming all potential pressures that limits full enjoyment of the democratic gains to ensure social equity. Human atrocities such as racism and terrorization are no new to America but still it remains to be a just nation.

Reflecting on the 1960’s events, it would not be wrong to infer that the country’s resilience nature was in trial. The world was experiencing drastic changes and so did the United States. Borrowing a script from “The Feminine Mystique” gender inclusivity was yet to be achieved. A human right activist and an author Betty Friedan, caused for change through her literal and advocacy works. It is in this verge of fighting for involvement of women in the development agenda that led to birth of a modern women movement, i.e. National Organization for Women Movement (NOW). Betty was of the feeling that an American woman had been neglected and almost made an object for men. Time had come for things to change and cause an opportunity for gender equity and social inclusion in national development. In realization of women rights, a greater movement was initiated to push through the agenda in ensuring women are given an equal chance as men in the corporate world and political participation. A series of demonstration and advocacy was involved leading to the development of a policy framework opening equal chances for women. Eventually, there rose the feminism factor forming a generation of independent women which has later been blamed to resulting to psychological problems on women affecting their social and custom life.
