Culture is a topic of discussion that has endless possibilities. Through culture people are able to make observations about others and form both friendships and enemies. From the time one is born, his or her life revolves around social environments. Childhood memories are the best way to describe who I am today and how I have gotten to the point in my life I currently hold. The essay, "Childhood Memories: Families and Children," mentions events and situations which support one through their childhood. Experiences create memories and memories therefore trigger what the future brings this is because when someone thinks about the past and events that have occurred it relates to situations they are currently in and what may happen ahead in his or her life. Every person has different memories due to the culture they are brought up in. As a child you can make decisions to either take the "correct" path in life or "go down the wrong road." Winter months entail hosting monthly block parties, chili cook offs, or seeing which family could build the largest snowman in their front yard. "Some memories are realities, and are better than anything that can ever happen to one again," said the modern novelist Willa Cather ("Childhood Memories" 19). This quote explains how memories similar to my own have affected me, I could not ask for a better way to grow up, as we may not have had the largest homes or nicest cars. Without those materialistic items, we did have the culture of always being there for each other through both the good times and the bad. This has shown me that money does not buy love and love cannot lead you to money. As I became an adult, I have realized that I would rather put the love of others around me first and foremost rather than the materialistic items of today's culture.
Individuals are what make up the culture of a particular area or community. Without the influence of many people in my life I do not know whom I would be today. I have always been extremely close
