David Macaulay’s Style

David Macaulay has a very unique style, he uses illustrations to give us a picture of what he is writing about, he also uses vocabulary in a way that helps us learn it, and lastly he uses a nice tone that pulls the story together in a nice way.
Macauley uses many detailed illustrations to help us visualize the subjects he talks about in a better way so we the readers are able to understand the story and concept more clearly. (Picture Pg. 41) The picture on page 41 helps us to see better what he is talking about.
Macauley also uses vocabulary that in certain context that helps us understand it better, an example of this is when he describes the keystone and its purpose on page 56, “The cathedral surely would not exist without the keystone, it holds the vault together and many other things.”
Lastly Macauley has a very unique tone to the story in which he uses a little humor, information, and very good literacy. He uses humor by naming one of the main characters in the book William of Planz “It was the chapter who decided to hire the flemish architect William of Planz (pg. 1).
In conclusion David Macauley wrote a nice informational and well written book with his very interesting and unique style.
