A housewife or also called as a stay-at-home mom is a woman who has chosen to not work outside, but rather spends all her time, energy and love into creating a safe and clean home for her family to grow and thrive. Women are beings that are made not only to spread love and care; they also have characteristics that make them great mothers or housewives. Housewives are responsible mothers. Housewives can be well educated and hardworking. Managing a home or a family is no easy task and its fulfilling. To begin with, Women in the 1950s felt the needed to work instead of staying at home. The women of the 1950s were oriented around the home. Separate gender roles were formed with men acting as the ‘breadwinners’ of the family, while women were the ‘caretakers’ of the home. During the 1900s women began to feel trapped and believed that they needed to follow the footsteps of their ancestors. On other terms women began to slowly transitioning into becoming working women and stepping out of the role of being a housewife and a mother. Next, Other people think that being a housewife is just a “plain” role of women. Cory Aquino is probably one of the most famous examples of a “housewife”. During the bitter campaign that ended in the fall of the dictatorship, Ferdinand Marcos and his supporters dismissed Cory as “just a woman” and a “plain housewife”. But Cory Aquino took up the label and it doing so, resonated with millions of women and men around the world. By identifying herself as a "plain housewife", Cory demonstrated that one way to challenge the use of a term is by being its living contradiction. Lastly, Women should be respected in what decision their going to choose or in what decision they chose. Throughout the years, housewives are not respected because of their role as women.
