Dear Office of the Communications Authority,
I am writing to complain about the mainland drama of Journey to the West which is now airing in an evening prime-time slot. The drama is totally terrible and I am fumed over TVB’s choice of a dated mainland series for prime-time viewing.
First, the special effects and unsophisticated character design are really appalling. TVB said the drama cost 100 million yuan to produce, with the special effects led by the team behind the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. That is absolutely impossible, which is a big lie for the audiences. Those special effects are not real enough that I can even make them from my computer and it just like cartoon. Also, the character design is so simple which cannot convey information to audiences, destroying the legendary tale of Monkey King. This drama is horrible.
Second, the drama was too violent and unsuitable for children, which is showing in prime-time slot. When the monkey was fighting, my sister started crying loudly and said that the monkey is a very bad. Since that deplorable experience, my sister has gone back room when the show films and refused to watch TV. I do not understand why this drama can be showed in prime-time slot that it is not suitable for any-aged audience.
I demand that TVB axe the show or change the time of showing the drama, which is good for audiences and itself because this drama got the lowest view. I look forward to know the follow-up after my complaint.
Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong
