Decision Summery
In the changing business environment of pharmaceutical industries, ELC is required to take strategic decision on the choice of facility for the production of drugs which are expected to be launched in 1996, which will help ELC to achieve its strategic goals.
Options of erecting one specialized facility or one flexible facility have been evaluated on the basis of effect on manufacturing cost, effect on lead time and mitigation of risks.
It is recommended to erect one flexible plant initially and then if demand of any product increases sufficiently, build one specialized plant.
