Cellular Phones

Cell phones! We see cell phones everywhere, everyday, every time. It’s may be the most revolutionary thing of the 20th century.

However, there are two downsides as well as three benefits, which present a controversy to cell phones.

Cell phones present three benefits, which make people life easy . First, cell phones connect people. We can make a call anywhere. I can stay in USA to call my family in Burkina Faso, for example. Or I also can text my girlfriend. There are many cases possible. Someone who works in another country can call his family in his home country, or a child can call his grandparents.

Next, cell phones are universal; anywhere you go, you’ll find cell phones, even in a poor country. For example in Africa it’s possible to see people who are poor, people who really have nothing with expensive cell phones more than $500. For them it’s important to have expensive cell phones whatever the price.

Finally, cell phones have many functions like instant messaging, Internet, GPS, flashlight, applications, and social networks. With those different functions you can do a lot of things such as receive your email on your phone, or search an address with your GPS.

Moreover actually cell phones are smartphones, which present a lot of kind of instant messages like BBM (Blackberry Messenger), Whatapp, and Yahoo messenger.

Unfortunately, cell phones also have downsides. Firstly people can be addicted; they can fall in love with cell phones. They always make a call, texting or search something on their phones.  Even in the classroom students are using their mobile. I also do that. I’m phone addicted. Because I receive a lot of texts so I feel compelled to answer. Sometimes this obsession can create a lot of problems like road accidents. It is common to read in the newspapers that the cause of a car accident is due to the use of phones.
