DEAR DIARY.
The first tinge of daylight sliced across the heavens and beamed through the open balcony only feet from where I rested. I felt the warm soft heavy fur on top of me and the blades from the sun began to add even more warmth to the otherwise cold dry room. The day was already planned as I had to document my journeys over the last couple of weeks before they became hazy in my mind.
The first page of my tome contained only the essential information. I was born a Oprani and my name as given by my father was Drageron’bel, but the name which stuck and for which I am called is Dragonbanker or DB for the lazy tongued. I was the second daughter of a refugee who fled the home world, Outerland, on board a ship named the Exodas. The Exodas landed on Myst Isle where I was nurtured by my family in a new home with purpose. My post was to do whatsoever was required to shelter and defend my family. Furthermore, I was bound to protect all the Oprani survivors from our enemies on the new world known as Erroth.
My father provided me with the tome to write down my stories. He left his mark at the bottom of the first page along with a passage that read as follows: “Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee,” (King James Version Exod 3.12)
I flipped the heavy parchment to the last page containing dark ink markings. The writing ended about a quarter of the way down the page. On that page described the letter I received containing a request for my services from Lady Gracin Moore in the city of Thanert. The writings ended by stating that the stories would continue upon my successful return to Stormhaven.
The end would turn into a new beginning as I recalled my journey out of Stormhaven. I would need transportation out of town and the best place to go would be the ship docks. The Passage to Thanert could have been complicated, but a dock worker found a group of merchants taking a ship to Menthil Harbor. After arriving in Menthil, my good luck continued for I found another boat heading to Thanert that very afternoon. During the part of the trip from Menthil to Thanert, I saw the moon three times.
