Social Factors:
The changes in the social environment can largely impact the demand of the products of any firm. The availability as well as the willingness to work also changes depending on the social environment that prevails. For example: The flight crash of the company in the year 2001 was a fatal accident for the SIA flight SQ006 near the Taipei's Chiang Kai Shek International Airport. The company accepted its responsibilities and termed the accident as the "pilot error" giving a compensation of $400,000 to all the relatives the dead people and met all the medical expenses of the injured. The company tried to take care that the social environment surrounding the company was maintained. However later facts came out and pointed that there were other causes too associated with the cause of the accident such as cost cutting measures by the airline and the authorities. Thus the company has to do the best to care of its both internal and external social environment to ensure the people through and for whom its working have the trust in the company which is the major driver for the company to operate.
