How to Change the Oil in Your Car

In order to change the oil in your car you must first begin by fallowing these few steps. Too insure that you do a good job and do not compromise the integrity of your engine, and cause your car to become inoperable.

First you must make sure that you have all the right tools to complete your job in timely manner.

Second you must make sure that you have the right oil and oil filter that you want your car to have for instance; if you want a high performance filter or oil for a high mileage vehicle.

Third begin by lifting the front of the car so that you can slide under the vehicle. Make sure that you set jack stands to insure that the car will not fall while you are under the Vehicle.

Fourth thing is to place you pan to catch the old oil, and then start loosening the bolt from the oil pan and drain the oil allow five minutes for the oil to drain completely.

The fifth step is to replace the old oil filter with the new one, and then replace the oil drain bolt. Be sure not to over tighten it this can cause you to strip the treads and cause more headaches.

Finley step six let the car down and make sure it is on a level spot, and fill the car with oil be sure not to over fill the car. Over filling the car can cause the engine to work harder than it needs to, and cause you more problems than you need.
